Flannel Clad Ten

Three dollars for a mark and a plastic cup.
Man, I just hoisted that thing up.
Belted out Pearl Jam’s “Ten“.

Sifting memories from a haze,
Still convinced those were better days,
Young fool, way back when.

Time was on my side.
As was youth, strength and pride.
I’m a long, long way from then.

Can’t cry because it’s done.
Smile for the memories won.
But for a day, I’d go back again.
